NEW VIDEO TRAILER

PRECEDES BAND’S DVD

Port Townsend WA. Freddy pink is pleased to announce the immediate release of a video trailer promoting their new DVD “The Power Of Nine” scheduled for release July 4th,  “We could not be more pleased” said bandleader and lead vocalist Gordon Yancey.  “I think the fans will be impressed with the quality of this video, mostly due to the expert editing of Videographer Chris Clephane of Northwest Creative Media (NWCM).  Chris is an artist” said Yancey, “He’s definitely a linear thinker and able to both visualize and explain the completed project in laymen's terms when it’s still in it’s infancy”.  Clephane works out of a new studio facility in the Gig Harbor area of Washington State.  The three and a half acre studio property is nestled on a hillside among second growth cedars and firs. creating a relaxing rural work environment. “ the surroundings are tranquil allowing for focus” says Yancey, who can’t say enough about his new found relationship with NWCM.  “I loved being able to watch the project emerge, however watching Chris work was nothing short of intimidating, when it came to checking my own computer skills, however never once did he make me feel like I was the major pain looking over his shoulder that I am sure I was during the week long session. This guys a marvel to work with, with a great head for concept, and an eye for detail.  I would highly recommend NWCM’s services to anyone seeking expert video craftsmanship at affordable prices.  The DVD trailer is viewable now on the band’s website at www.freddypink.com, and when released in full DVD format will include a menu featuring several live concert performances, three cuts off of the band’s CD “In Search Of Blue Water”, as well as several studio cuts of cover tunes.

“We are so happy to have this project complete” says Yancey,  The band will include the new “Power Of Nine” DVD’s in their promotional packages that are sent to agents and event planners around the country.

CLEARWATER CONCERT WILL BE OLD HOME WEEK FOR FP

SUQUAMISH WA. - Freddy Pink is scheduled to perform in concert  for the Clearwater Casino’s outdoor concert series July 17th, 2008. Sitting
high above the Agate Passage Cut, the body of water dividing the West side of Bainbridge Island from the Kitsap Peninsula, The Clearwater  property is among the most beautiful concert venues in the state.  Agate passage sees a constant parade of boaters, as well as a breathtaking view of Mount Rainier to the South.  Concert goers from the East Sound can park there cars downtown under the Alaska Way Viaduct, and walk across  on the Bainbrige Island Ferry, where they can hook up with a casino shuttle bus.  The shuttle meets every ferry arriving from Seattle and departing from Bainbridge, so no need to worry about getting home after the event.  Simply hop on the shuttle and it will get you to the next boat back.

Freddy Pink Started on Bainbridge Island over twenty-five years ago, and was a staple on the Kitsap County music scene, before taking the show to Seattle and beyond.  Performing in the West Sound is a treat for the band, in that we see see a ton of familiar faces in the crowd.  Also, there’s something about performing in the West Sound that unleashes that Tribal Spirit in people.  (no pun or disrespect intended), The fans just seem to have more of an ablity to become one with the music.  Maybe it’s the fact that the Kitsap area skirts the Olympic Wilderness. You will see people dancing by themselves, dancing with eachother, sitting on blankets with their eyes closed, head up to the heavens, really digging what we are doing, and we love it!!!!  We hope you can make it over to see the show.  Click below for a Washington State ferry Schedule to Bainbridge, and bring the entire family.  This one is guaranteed fun!!!

PINKDOM WELCOMES SAXOPHONIST RICH COLE

Seattle WA.  Freddy Pink is pleased to announce the addition of nationally acclaimed artist Rich Cole to the fold.  Rich who is succeeding Pink Brother for Life, “EJ” John Erickson  (see farewell to a brother in arms) is the twin brother to Freddy Pink’s trumpet player and Music Director, Dr.
Ron Cole.  “As sad a day as it was hearing that our good friend EJ Erickson was stepping down, we could not be more thrilled with his successor. Hiring Rich Cole is a major step in the right direction” says lead vocalist Gordon Yancey.  The band has ramped up considerably in the last year, with bookings through 2010.  The quality and frequency of our jobs have increased greatly, with more fly-a-ways to out of state jobs, and Rich brings us the knowledge and professionalism from years of live experience on the road.  The band also looks forward to the tightness that comes from two brothers who have played together from their early years.  Rich has toured regularly with fusion star Dan Siegel, performed with r&b legends Gladys Knight, The Temptations,The Four Tops, and most recently with Dr. John and the Neville Brothers.  He has also worked with such jazz greats as Randy Brecker, Dave Holland, Adam Nussbaum, Julian Priester and John Fedchock,  A writer as well, Rich’s own compositions have received high praise by critics across the country.  “Rich joins the band at a very busy time.” says Yancey.  The groups summer tour is a full plate including many corporate dates, casinos, and concerts across the state, as well as several out of state jobs.  “With the advent of our new video trailer and subsequent DVD, we are now able to reach buyers across the United States, giving them a first hand look at who and what the band really is.  “The video has become the band’s strongest promotional tool, and we expect to increase last years tour dates by double next year.  There is no better time for bringing in a strong seasoned professional.  The groundwork has been laid, and Rich will enjoy the luxury of coming into a group that is already well established, and we look forward to his contribution.  We are confident that our decision to bring Rich in will help the band achieve it’s goals.  Come out and hear this guy.  It’s Amaaaaaaazing!!!!!”

FP TRUMPETER JOHN BENEDETTI BRINGS NEW VOCALS TO THE PLATE

BELLEVUE WA.  John Benedetti, or “John Boy”, or JB, as his band-mates affectionately call him, is adding a new dimension to the Brothers Pink.  John has been singing background vocals since he entered the band in 2006, and has now joined bassist Marty McGehee,
and front-man Gordon Yancey, in the shareing of the lead vocal spotlight.  “I was onstage at Wild Horse Casino in Pendleton Oregon during a soundcheck when I heard the Chicago tune “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is”, said lead vocalist Gordon Yancey.  I had just finished listening to John cueing up his vocal monitor, and he was on key with the Chicago tune playing over the house system in the background.  I turned to him and said, “Hey John, this tune would be perfect for you!”.  The rest was history.   JB practiced the tune, Guitarist Mike Stoican had the idea to add it to an existing medley already in the band’s repertoire, and it has now become a permanent fixture in the band’s Chicago medley, consisting of “Make Me Smile”, “Free” and now wrapping up beautifully with John singing “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is”.  It’s the perfect soft landing for the two prior, intense songs that were originally sung by Chicago’s powerhouse vocalist Terry Kath.  Johns tune was originally sung by Chicago's Robert Lamm, who’s voice was less growly and intense than Kath’s.  “It’s really very cool” says Yancey, “ As the first two driving tunes in the medley end, the audience begins to applaud, then underneath the applause the horns ramp back up, in a more swing-like fashion, very much a contrast, and surprising the audience with a good-time tune that they haven’t heard for eons “John does a fabulous job on this tune, in fact, I’m a little jealous” says Yancey, “I love that tune, it’s pretty!  Why don’t I ever get to sing the pretty songs?  I never get to sing the pretty songs! Maybe John’s just prettier than I am?”
